Ina-Garten
Ina Garten is an acclaimed American cook book author for many seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina began her career in writing nuclear energy policies and budgets of the White House. She initially adored the intellectual challenge that came with her work, but she quickly lost the interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty restaurant. It took her 18 years to turn the store into wildly successful, before she sold the store. Then she began writing her first cookbook. Others followed, and so did magazine columns. Her Food Network TV show also debuted, and was a huge success. In addition, she sells everything from cooking equipment to tools and storage containers. Ina has never attended any cooking institute and hasn't had any experience in a restaurant. She is self-taught. Her relaxed approach to entertaining and her easy culinary style is widely known. She is known for her easy recipes like Skillet Roasted Lemon Chicken, Macaroni and Cheese made with beef Bourguignon, and the Balsamic-Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
