
Carrie-Anne Moss, born August 21, 1967 is a Canadian actor from Canada. After her initial roles on television her name was brought to international prominence for her role in the role of Trinity in The Matrix series (1999-present). Memento (2000) was her debut major role. She was awarded the Independent Spirit Award, Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000). Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006). Snow Cake (2006) earned her the Genie Award, Best Performance by an Actress. Disturbia (2007). Unthinkable (2010). Silent Hill: Revelation (2012). Pompeii (2014). Moss also played Jeri Hogarth on several TV shows produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, including Jessica Jones (2015-2019). Moss was living in Spain at the time, was given the role of Tara Marshall who served as the clerk to the Judge Nicholas Marshall, in Dark Justice. It was her first television appearance. As part of the show, she made the move from Barcelona to Los Angeles in 1992. Moss was forced to quit Dark Justice after the third season, and the final. Elisa Heinsohn replaced her as Samantha "Sam". When she returned to the USA, she enrolled at American Academy of Dramatic Arts Pasadena. She was a model and starred in Models Inc., a Fox primetime soap drama. The show was ended July 1, 1995. Matrix was a brief-lived made in Canada series. The 1990s were a time when she appeared in several TV shows including Street Justice and Baywatch. Also, she appeared in F/X: The Series and Due South. Due South was nominated for the Gemini Award for Best Guest actor in a drama. Many of her film roles in the decade were B films, including Flashfire (1994), The Soft Kill (1994), Tough Guy (1994), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (1996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
