AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Shortly after graduating early from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was drafted number one overall during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her professional debut and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years aged, was the smallest national player at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. She scored the match-winning goal against Canada in the semi-final game at the 2012 London Olympics. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to achieve 20 goals in one season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, which included her on the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
